Finding Inspiration in the Mundane
Hello! I provide head shot photography in London.
Murray, a fellow Canadian got in touch about having some new images done for LinkedIn and to use for his various roles as a management consultant, post-doctoral research assistant, writer and touring musician (and Mandarin speaker as we’re adding things to the list!).
We went on an extended walk around South London, in Borough and the London Bridge area which is rich with textured brick, little nooks and on this day, great light.
Although I sometimes work in studio settings, I draw much inspiration from the environment which is why I prefer to shoot on location. A plain and sometimes what’s deemed as an “ugly” setting, when looking beyond the concrete and imperfections can result in beautiful images if the light is right. The image with red wall would be different without the strong shadows on it. A steely, industrial corner provides texture, iridescence and perspective. In just an hour we were able to create nearly a dozen different looks.
If you’d like to explore London with me for your head shot session, please get in touch and we’ll walk the atmospheric and sometimes grimy streets in a corner of the city.
